
NEW YORK (AP) — WWE will air pregame pregame coverage of its SummerSlam pay-Per-View on Thursday, marking the first time in its nearly 40-year history that it has done so.WWE President/COO Stephanie McMahon and WWE Chief Creative Officer/Chief Talent Officer Dave Meltzer are set to appear on the broadcast alongside WWE Hall of Famer, Hulk Hogan.
The network is still considering the length of the show, which will air on Thursday nights and on pay-TV.
The show will feature a new segment called ‘WWE LIVE’, which will be a one-hour event on its pay-Broadcast schedule, which includes an hourlong show in which Hogan, Seth Rollins, Xavier Woods, Randy Orton, Sami Zayn, Rey Mysterio and John Cena are interviewed live from a microphone.
Hogan is set to speak about his upcoming WWE Raw debut at 9 p.m.
ET, while Rollins will discuss his recent feud with WWE Champion CM Punk, and Orton will speak about the upcoming Smackdown live event on Sunday.
Rollins will also speak on his upcoming appearance on the ‘Diva’s Honor: WrestleMania 30 Live’ pay-Empire special at 9:30 p..m., and Zayn will speak on the upcoming WrestleMania 31 live event at 10 p.p.m.”WWE’s SummerSlim event will air live on WWE Network on Thursday at 9 a.m.,” the network said in a statement.
“Fans will get to see the biggest stars of WWE, including the most successful, best-known and most exciting Superstars from around the world, as they take to the ring.
This is the perfect opportunity for fans to get a glimpse at the world of WWE and to see how the talent works together.”
Meltzer will be joined on the show by WWE Hall-of-Famer, Ric Flair, as well as Hall of Fame inductee, Bobby Heenan, former WWE Champion and Hall of Famers Dean Malenko, The Undertaker and Hulk Hogan, as guests.
