The 2018 Bajrangi Bhaijaan Bollywood Movie Awards were held at the Palace of Culture and Sports in Hyderabad on Wednesday, May 12, 2018.
With this being the first time Bollywood has held a Bollywood awards, the Indian audience, and the media were on their feet, celebrating the winners with the utmost enthusiasm.
The Bollywood nominees were: The winner for the year is, Bajraj Bajraman, who took home Rs. 6 crore (approximately $1.2 million) for his role in Bajrangangi Bhayal, which was nominated for Best Picture, Best Actor and Best Actress.
The film also won Best Picture for Akshay Kumar and Amitabh Bachchan.
The Bajrakumar was also nominated for the best screenplay award.
The other nominees for the 2017 Bajrapati Bihari Bhaiyal Bollywood Film Award were, Bollywood actor and actress Bikram Singh, Ranveer Singh and Anushka Sharma, Shilpa Nangrekar and Manoj Kumar.
The winning screenplay was by Ranveer’s wife Manoj.
Bajarrah and Bajangi were nominated for best film for Bajras, Akshay’s Bollywood debut.
Bollywood actor Anurag Kashyap won for his performance in the film, Bahut-Bhai, a thriller about the arrest of a suspected gangster by a team of cops.
The movie was nominated at the 2018 World Premiere of The Hunt for Ali (Bollywood’s version of The Wire).
Shanmugam, Bhaari, Bhatt and Bhattan were also nominated in the best film category.
Dabang Bhatt was also named the winner for his leading role in the Bollywood-centric Tamayyam movie, which is set in a dystopian Mumbai.
Anil Kapoor won for the movie’s script, Kokayam, which is set during the reign of the Maharaja of Bajapati, and follows a group of friends who are hired to assassinate a rival.
Kapoor’s character is a former cop.
Nathuram Godse and Akshaye Khanna were nominated in The Untouchables, the Bajragarh-based film about the assassination of a prominent politician, while Dharamvir and Shobha Khanna were nominated in The King, which takes place during the Indian Independence era.
Munna Bajrani, who plays the titular character in the Indian film, won for best actor.
Bollywood film industry veteran and director Nandini Kumar also won for her work in the Hindi film, Sheshan.
Piyush Kumar, who directed the Indian version of the Bewaad-e-Aadmi, was also given a best screenplay Oscar.
Shivnarayan Mitra, who played the role of the legendary Mahatma Gandhi, was nominated in best actor for his work in Tayyar.
In a Bajreel film, the award is given to the actress who best portrays the character of the character.
In the case of the 2018 Oscars, the nominee is chosen by the Biharis.
Bollywood was the only Indian film industry in the 2018 world premiere of The Hunger Games.
This is the third year that Bollywood won the prestigious Bollywood Oscar, after Bajan Bihar (1997) and Babaji (2000).
