New York Governor Andrew Cuomo and House Speaker Nancy Pelosi have announced a $1 trillion package that will help families struggling with unemployment.
Cuomo announced the package at a press conference with Trump on Thursday morning.
The New York Democrat said the bill would include an $11 billion boost to the Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC) and an additional $1.5 trillion for Pell Grants, grants to low-income students and job training programs.
Democrats are calling it a massive boost to help struggling Americans.
The legislation would also make it easier for businesses to offer higher wages and would give workers the right to opt out of the Earnings Tax Credit.
The bill will also add $1,000 for every child enrolled in a preschool program, $300 for every student receiving Pell Grants and $1 for every job that requires at least a high school diploma.
