Christianity is a religion of peace, but one church in the United States has come under fire for its decision to open its doors to a young man who calls himself Jesus Christ.
A Christian school in the state of California has opened its doors for a man who claims to be Jesus Christ, the Los Angeles Times reports.
According to a statement posted on the church’s website, the young man, identified only as Matthew, was brought in for an interview after his father dropped him off in Los Angeles.
According a video on the website, Matthew told his father that he was “born again” and that he needed to “get my life together.”
The man, who appears to be a young woman, said he would meet with other church leaders in the future and then make a decision about his future.
He said he wanted to “go out and live a life of happiness.”
The statement on the Calvo Church website read: “We believe that it is our responsibility to speak up for what we believe in, whether it be in a church setting or outside of the church.
As a result, we ask that our guests please do the same.
This invitation is to allow all of our guests to share their thoughts and feelings and be a voice for peace.”
The church said it has offered to pay Matthew’s expenses and provide him with financial support, but Matthew’s family says he needs more time to study and is considering a lawsuit.
