Biden plans to campaign in South Dakota and Florida ahead of Tuesday’s South Carolina primary, the first of the cycle for Democrats who are seeking the party’s presidential nomination.
The first stops include a rally in Sioux Falls on Wednesday night and an appearance in Jacksonville, Fla., on Friday, according to an aide.
Biden has been an avid supporter of Clinton since the 2016 election and is the former governor of Vermont.
The South Carolina Democratic Party confirmed the plan on Tuesday evening.
Biden also plans to stump in Florida on Thursday.
A day before the primary, Biden will campaign in Alabama and Georgia on Friday.
In Georgia, Biden is set to campaign on Thursday night and Saturday, according a campaign official.
South Carolina Democratic Senate candidate Archie Parnell, who is running for the Republican nomination, has said he would support Biden in a primary if Biden were to win the Democratic nomination.
Clinton, who has a big lead in the polls, has yet to publicly endorse any of her opponents.
The Democratic presidential field has included Sens.
Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.), Martin Heinrich (D-N.M.), Martin O’Malley (D) and Elizabeth Warren (D).
Biden’s campaign has said it would continue to push for progressive legislation and a more progressive agenda if elected president.
